The Myanmar military issued arrest warrants Friday for 26 members of a parallel government formed by the pro-democracy movement, state TV reported Thursday night.
The 26 members include ministers of the National Unity Government, according to the report. The NUG is headed by ousted leaders Aung San Suu Kyi and Win Myint.

The military junta that seized power in the Feb. 1 coup in the Southeast Asian nation identified the NUG as an illegal organization.
The NUG was formed on April 16 by pro-democracy figures from the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, a group comprised mostly of members of the Suu Kyi-led National League for Democracy party who won a resounding victory in the November general election.
